Cabal mining activity on Nessus has unexpectedly woken a powerful Vex presence, and the ensuing conflict across multiple Sectors requires Guardian investigation. Your team must access the Cabal drilling operation away from the main Sectors of this planetoid and wade through any defenses as you search diligently for evidence of Modular Mind activity.

The final showdown occurs all the way down a multiple-tiered inverted spire, where a Boss proves that the Vex are a real force to be reckoned with.

Assault the Landing Zone in the southeastern area of the Cistern. Access the pulsing conflux, hacking it so a series of floating blocks appears over the bottomless chasm ahead and along the southern perimeter of this Sector.
Take the shorter route across the even smaller blocks to the right of the main route to a block promontory with a Vex cannon above it. Jump into the cannon to propel yourself across to a second larger promontory with a small contingent of Cabal.
Expect Legionaries, Psions, and a Centurion to waylay you. Use the tube-like structure as cover as you easily bring down these forces and then leap through another Vex cannon, traversing deeper into these vast floating block structures.

Variations: Hobgoblins on the upper ledges, Cabal forces (Sub-Boss Centurion) in the main L-shaped ledge.
Enter the gaping chasm and look to the right from the entrance perch. Snipe Goblins on the lower block bridge, and then jump to it. Have one of your team jump to the higher plinth attached to the right wall. Here, you can spot the Goblins, Fanatics, and two Hydras roaming the L-shaped main ledge to the exit, and lob grenades at them with impunity.
You must defeat all these foes, and wading in is a little more dangerous due to the possible death drops along the inner side of the ledge.
There is a sunken area with a Vex catapult slightly off the side of the ledge, but milling around here just gets you shot at. You can use it to outflank the foes by landing down here, jumping up to the exit passage, and then turning to face down remaining foes.
Legion Drill Site

You appear high above a huge expanse of block architecture, with the strip mining of the Cabal visible in the far distance. Stop at the edge of the large red moss-covered block towers, and snipe the Cabal Psions atop the nearest one before jumping onto it. To the right of the moss-covered block is an attached gray promontory with a small block section and a scarred circle carved into the stone.
Land here, and expect to face at least two Cabal Gladiators. If you can land on the block section, you can use the slight height and cover to dodge the Gladiators as you slaughter them. Then, simply snipe a couple of Legionaries on your way down to the last stepping stone, then head to the Vex altar circle, where a group of Goblins must be quickly defeated. Immediately wind your way across any of the short Vex paths, and go into the crater zone.
Cabal Mining Base

Rush across the crater zone, ignoring any small skirmishes between Vex and Cabal forces. Slow down as you reach the edge of the mining base. You have two “drill officers” to tackle, as well as a host of Legionaries who have jet-packed into your view. Each Sub-Boss is situated inside one of the two low circular structures, which usually has a Psion sniper on the roof. Between these two structures is a mass of Cabal infantry: Phalanxes, Psions, and Legionaries, usually led by a Centurion with a rapid-fire cannon.
Sub-Bosses: There’s a lot to recommend if you first focus your firepower on this central cluster of forces from the crater zone. Start with any Psions atop either base building; drop them as your team arrives in the general area. Annihilate the Cabal between the two circular buildings (or Vex, if this is a Strike variation). Then, take each Legionary Sub-Boss one at a time. Since they tend to hide inside the circular building, you can have one player rake the entrance, removing Phalanxes and other infantry as well as hitting the Sub-Boss drill officer.
Another teammate can fire through the open windows and lob in grenades.
