First as the game start and your team is on the ground, use everything at your disposal, along with keen eyesight, to track the monsters.
Follow the Foot Prints:
As soon as you touch down, look around for Monster tracks and follow them. These blue markings light up in the direction the beast is moving. Note that a flying Kraken leaves a different print than when it walks. Monsters cover more ground than the Hunters in the same amount of time. Therefore, you will never catch up if you simply run behind. So you need some other clues to find them.
Split Into Groups (2)
You will not find foot prints every time while hunting the monsters, beast sneaks, climbs, or wades through water to find. Avoid getting fooled by misdirection. Split into the groups of two with a batter chance to find.
Also keep an eye on the environment, look for the toppled trees, corpses, and birds give away a monster’s location. Also hear for the scared and carrion birds, as they give the exact location at that time.
Finding Wildlife Corpse:
If you find a wildlife corpse, it doesn’t means he was killed by a monster, wildlife fights with the other wildlife – so finding a corpse does not always mean that the Monster came through.
Tracking equipment are very helpful to find a monster, every trappers has their own tracking equipment. Maggie has her Pet Trapjaw – Daisy, Griffin has Sound Spikes, and Abe uses a Tracking Dart Pistol. Bucket’s UAV and Cabot’s Dust Tagging add to your chances of finding the foe.
If you have Maggie on your team, you just need to following the Trapjaw to find the monster
Daisy attempts to guide you straight to the Monster’s location.
Combine Maggie with Caira’s Adrenaline Field to speed up Trapjaw speed and reach your target quicker.
Griffin can strategically place his Sound Spikes around the map, just see the map as long as the Monster is in the Sound Spike area, it will be tracked.
Use Abe’s Tracking Dart Pistol on monster itself or on wildlife. If a tagged creature is eaten, then the monster is marked.
With Bucket’s UAV, he can moved throughout the environment to spot monster.
