Metroid: Samus Returns has Energy Tanks hidden throughout the planet of SR388. These can be easy to miss, but with the help of this guide you will find each of them. There are 10 Energy Tanks to find and collect. Each Energy Tank is listed below with its location and how to find it.
After you receive the Charge Beam, exit the room and enter your Morph Ball to squeeze under the platform where the Energy Tank rests.
Defeat the Metroid within the door on the right of the big and open room. Use the Spider Ball to ride up the wall on the right. Once you reach the top, bomb the corner to reveal a passageway leading the Energy Tank.
Don’t enter the tall room that leads to the High Jump Boots just yet. After you break through the two sets of floors, find the weak spot in the third floor and break through as well. Get to the bottom and move through the water. Use the Wave Beam to open the next door. The next room has that pesky purple gas. Get you Lightning Armor activated and stand near the gas. Shoot the top left corner to create an opening, then run through and immediately climb up. Don’t worry, there’s water to wash off the gas in the next area! Drop down to the bottom and open the door. The Energy Tank is in sight and seemingly blocked by some sort of wall. Well, it’s not. It’s supposed to an illusion that you’ll notice easier if you have your 3D on! Walk right past it and claim your prize.
As you’re making your way to the Metroid in the lava room, you’ll come across a door that needs a charged shot to open. Below it is the Energy Tank. Bomb the weak block on the left to find a passageway underneath the room. Bomb the next weak spot to get to it. Easy!
You’d have to jump over the Energy Tank to miss this one. Go to the right of the second Chozo Seal and bomb the weak block on the ceiling. Roll up and around the Energy Tank. Yank and destroy the red glowing block, then jump up and go to the tunnel that you just opened up. This will take you right to the Energy Tank.
Obtainable: After Area 5
To the left of the small lava room is a room where you’ll need the Screw Attack. Break through the ceiling on the left, then bomb the weak spot and use your Spider Ball to reach the Energy Tank!
Enter the door with the green barrier at the top of the main area. There should have been an Aeion Recharge to the left. Use your Grapple Beam to pull yourself to the right where the Energy Tank is resting!
Before you get to the second Metroid in Area 6, drop through the weak floor and bomb the left wall to reveal the tank.
From the tall room on the right, open the door on the left with a charged shot. Jump in and out the water, then take out the enemies in this area. A Power Bomb can take care of them quick! Before entering the second pool of water, bomb the floor before it to reveal a path going down. Keep going left and eventually you’ll hit a weak part of the floor that takes you to a Save Station. Get back up with a Screw Attack, then bomb the left wall while using Phase Drift to get access to the tank.
In the room with the pools of yellow water, take note of the Energy Tank above. Screw Attack through the ceiling and roll around the top. Use Phase Drift to get past the weak floor.
