Naughty Dog taking their time to make the second part of Last of Us, until they have done with the upcoming Ps4 Exclusive title Uncharted 4: Thief’s End. In a new interview, Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann two of the key developers said they are focused exclusively on 2015’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End right now.
Straley said when asked about The Last of Us 2, “We’re 110 percent in Uncharted 4 territory now. Blinders on, make this awesome.”
In an interview with Game Informer, He also said that:
We totally get it, because we have those same feelings as well. We have brainstormed sequel ideas forThe Last of Us, and we’ve brainstormed ideas for new games, but all of that is put on ice right now while we work on Uncharted 4.
According to Druckmann, it’s still a “big assumption” to believe Naughty Dog will ever make a sequel to the game; However, if it were to happen, Druckmann “would not be OK with” seeing the game made without him. In late December, The Last of Us 2 was spotted on a former Naughty Dog developer’s resume. Before that, Druckmann said The Last of Us 2 was a 50/50.
While a sequel to The Last of Us remains unannounced, there will be a movie based on the post-apocalyptic series announced by Sony.
