Tips and Tactics:
First of all learn one thing – To Take Cover. In combat some enemies can take you down in no time if you are in open area and you will start from last checkpoint. So whenever you are facing enemies find and take cover. And in combat scout out good cover locations before you proceed. If you take fire, dive into that cover! As you take down foes, advance carefully from cover to cover, taking their shooting angles into account as you go.
Your health will regenerates over time, the screen reddens when you take damage, find cover and stay put until the screen brightens again.
While in cover press “L2” to aim, and you will pop out of cover – here you need to be quick to adjust your aim quickly towards a target and release “L2” to drop behind the cover and next time you press “L2” you aim will be at the exact same spot. This method of refining your aim then dropping back into cover will serve you well, minimizing damage from enemy fire especially if your foes are accurate shooters, e.g., snipers.
You can move around the unobstructed edge of a piece cover in several ways. If there is more cover around the corner, you can hold the Left Stick toward the corner and then hold “O” to slip around the corner while staying in cover. Holding the Left Stick the same way, you can tap “X” to slip out of the cover. You can go to the next cover that is aligned with your current cover, by holding the Left Stick toward new cover and tap “O” to quickly scurry over while staying low.
When you exit cover by backing away from it with the Left Stick instead with “X”, you enter soft-cover mode, staying low and automatically slips into any cover that you steer him into. Aiming and firing allow you to retain your soft-cover state. This is very helpful for cautiously moving from one piece of cover to the next.
You can use your Thermite Rifle to attack enemies hiding behind cover. Just fire the cloud above them and ignite it with your Alt/Fire flare to rain thermite down on foes you couldn’t hit with other guns. You can use smoke grenades against them as well. It flushes foes out of cover and also stuns enemies often.
While with the Arc Induction Lance gun, you no need to specific aiming of targets, you can point it in general area after charging up then discharge, its electrical bolt automatically finds the nearest target within the targeting reticle, which is fairly wide. And you can charge up the Arc gun in cover safely.
