There is no doubt in a fact that 2015 was a very god year for gamers and many big titles were released but there are also some games which disappointed their fans very much. There were some games which are exceptional and praised by the gamers very much like Bloodborne and Witcher 3 but some games completely missed the mark and disappointed their fans very much.
It is such a bad feeling when promising game didn’t meet its full potential. In this list we’re looking at those games which didn’t live up to their potential despite the hype they received before their release. In some cases getting inches away, but falling at the last hurdle.
10: The Order: 1886
Starting our list from The Order: 1886. This game created so much excitement before it release and it took five years to complete it but upon releasing it disappointed the fans. Most of the plot and boss battles were latterly copied and pasted and weapon variety wasn’t up to the mark. And the length of the game is very short. It’s only about six hours of gameplay. There are lot of cut scenes and quick time events, so you can play only couple of hours at most. With no extra features AT ALL, there’s zero reason to want to pick it up again after one play through.
Godzilla is a very famous movie but Godzilla the game disappointed its fans very much. It is one of the titles that fans would but it immediately. Godzilla is a PlayStation 4 exclusive starring monsters from the past. But the most destructive gaming experience of the year 2015 fizzled out with outdated graphics and stilted gameplay. It’s a slow moving fighting game with no blocking.
08: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5
Pro Skater series died long time ago but Activision released the new installment just to get some cash. In the past Pro Skater was considered a good series and Pro Skater 2 is still considered greatest game of all the time but this last installment is just useless to buy. This game is full of glitches, poor graphics that doesn’t do justice with PS4 and Xbox One and inducing missions that serve as a reminder of why we put our boards away in the first place.
07: Raven’s Cry
This game was poorly developed that its developer rereleased it after some several months in order to fix the issue, Bugs, crashes and other things which makes games unplayable. It is renamed from Raven’s Cry to Vendetta — Curse of Raven’s Cry which is more meaningless name as compared to the original one. It proves that a bad game by any other name will play just as badly.
06: Need For Speed
Every racing lover is familiar with the name of Need for Speed series. Its previous titles were always awesome and Need for Speed Most Wanted can easily be called the greatest racing game of all the time. But in the new installment Need for Speed 2015, it disappointed the fans. The graphics are gorgeous and other customization options are also great but rubber-banding is atrocious for this game. Considering that many originally hoped it would be a third Underground game that might be the route to go next time.
Hatred is a shooting game developed and published by Destructive Publications and it was released in June. This game was the center of intention for the gaming fans. In Hatred, you play as nameless killer who hates humanity and decides to wipe it out. All you need to do is run around and kill innocent people. Hatred’s developers tried so hard to cause a shitstorm that they forgot to make a good game to justify it.
04: Battlefield: Hardline
Battlefield series is a love for first person shooting fans. Its new title was released in March 2015. EA said that it was a far more than an expansion pack. Come release that proved itself at every turn. It just like Last of Us indie style. Your positions are awkward between any number between any number of perps brought up timed meters that showed they were about to attack and repeats the same thing. Multiplayer is also messed up. So to say this game is terrible and we all are waiting for a new installment.
It is a party video game for Wii U developed by Nintendo and ND Cube and released in November 2015. This game is very boring and it all depends on luck, and the Amiibo integration is so poorly tacked that they pretty much act as just as a button you should be able to push. We can say that the developer has spoiled the goodwill the series has worked hard to build up, but these spinoffs are not so cool.
This was one of the most anticipated game of the 2015 and every card carrying gamer was waiting for it desperately. It looks and sounds fantastic and is fine as a (very) casual shooter, but maybe wait until it’s a little cheaper. The shortage of maps and compelling game modes sadly does not make it the Star Wars game fans of the series we’re looking for.
01: Alone In the Dark: Illumination
And on the top of the list, this is the worst survival horror game which was released in 2015. It earned Metacritic’s lowest-ranked title of 2015. This is the sixth installment in Alone in the Dark series and stands as franchise’s shoddiest entry. The game is obviously unfinished, either that, or the developers were too lazy to include voice acting and readable text. The only good thing in this game is its title.
