The Order: 1886 is a game that re-writes history by introducing a unique vision of Victorian-Era London, where Man uses advanced technology to battle a powerful and ancient foe. This game looks to be a dramatic, emotional, nail-biting ride that simply wasn’t possible on any previous console generation.
We’ve seen a lot from The Order 1886 over the past few weeks as Sony ramped-up their marketing campaign, and overall, the game lives up to the hype. Here are the things in The Order: 1886 that have us the most hyped.
For starters, the gameplay and controls are amazing. Third person shooter mechanics are notoriously hard to get right, especially when it comes to cover and movement and going from one to another. Gears of War pretty much nailed the third person controls, and The Order 1886 feels very similar — controls are easy to learn and get used to.
Beautiful Visuals and Graphics
Another good thing about The Order: 1886 is its visuals. They’re pretty darn stunning. Not just in terms of graphical fidelity and details, but in terms of art design as well. The game has a great atmosphere and the remake of Victorian times has been done extremely well, creating a believable world. Combining the graphical power of the game with its realistic character models and always-widescreen stylistic approach, The Order truly feels like a movie experience, just one where you get to control the heroes as they battle to save the day.
Weaponry & Gunfights
A third-person shooter is nothing without its weapons, and The Order: 1886 is going to have some seriously awesome firepower that looks to give some unique twists on what you’ve seen before. Gamers will find an assortment of dangerous toys that would just as easily suit a hero from the future as it does these knights from the past, ranging from the Essex M2/Pn83 Falchion Auto-Rifle with multi-firing capabilities to the Thermite Gun, which is ideal for large enemies.
