Thing You Should Keep in Mind While Exploring
Each Chalice dungeon spawns 3 Bosses that the player must defeat in order to clear the Dungeon. It is unclear which bosses the Dungeons will spawn. There are special candles that light up blue if you enter a room that you have already visited, helping you not get lost.
There are Chime Maidens within each Chalice Dungeon that are troublesome if you do not kill them, as they will continually summon more monsters to attack you. They can be identified by the red tint to them, and they will be expunged after killing the Maiden.
There are Lamps within the dungeons that act as checkpoints to the player can port back to where he/she was. The dungeon has a very varied architecture, and it’s not only vast, but also extensive vertically. Strangers are not welcome, so the hallways are ridden with a variety of traps.
Messengers haunt the Chalice Dungeon too, and there are special areas where many of them gather. They are the proof that the place has been “shared” many times. Chalice Rituals must be performed in order to create a Chalice Dungeon, and Chalices determine what type of Chalice Dungeon you will create.
Chalice Dungeon All Bosses Tips to Defeat:
There are total 9 bosses that you can beat in Bloodborne, these bosses are very deadly and you will be die in no time if you do not care.
Undead Giant:
- Location: Chalice Dungeon (Layer 1)
- Drops: Blood Echoes (1,425), Adept Blood Gemstone (2)
There are two versions of this boss, one is simple with two swords and can be quickly destroyed if you just stay behind him. Second version is a monster. He has several maces on his back that he whips around and they deal incredible damage even at a distance. This is one boss you can’t simply rush and start swinging at. He is weak to fire, so Molotov not only do good damage but make him stagger allowing for free hits in, his attacks do very high damage and are wide range, however the best dodging strategy is to dodge through his attack and get behind him, he can’t hit you behind him unless he does a telegraphed spin attack or a AOE ground pound to get you, which are both easily dodged.
Merciless Watchers:
- Location: Chalice Dungeon (Layer 3)
- Drops: Pthumer root chalice – Blood Echoes (1,183)
These 3 have low health so as long as you don’t get caught in the middle of them, you’ll be alright. This is a pretty forgiving boss fight overall. They are composed of two meele fighters and one ranged one. It’s possible to lure one away from the group on a map with stairs, which they will not follow you down directly upon entry, so careful planning and actions are required, once lured; a one on one fight is easy. But be careful they are slow with the heavy attacks, so if you caught you will be dead in few attacks. After one is down you can freely just go after the one with the gun even though the other is close. After only one is left, do the same tactic as the first and it should be fine.
In some instances, you can poison each member of the trio and let them die without even having to engage them physically. This is especially possible when you spawn in certain instances where the bosses don’t even engage you unless you go up to their platform.
Watch Dog of The Old Lords:
- Location: Chalice Dungeon
- Drop: Blood echoes (1,866) and Central Pthmeru Chalice
The Watchdog looks intimidating but is very easy with patience as all her moves are heavily telegraphed. When you enter the room she will likely use her charge attack. Dodge and get a couple hits if you can. Use hunter axe, stay in front of him, and keep smacking him in the head with the two-handed R2 after he finishes his head swipe. Dodge backwards during a swipe, move forward to hit him, then dodge back. Just watch out for his dash attack in the Defilement Dungeon since it will one-shot you if you don’t move in time.
At 50{ad0b53be2d5c5d18a99e20ff09d5b2ab365deb4c843e9bf9a16eb8b27c6b832d} health she does her Explosion move which can kill you if get caught in it. She now moves at you much more aggressively and is just as likely to use Snapping Bites. When she uses an attack, you will see her throat swell up like a toad, if you hit it enough times while it’s swollen you will stagger her, however, if you don’t manage to pull off a stagger, you’ll likely get hit with her attack.
