Let’s have a look below tips and details of the animals and other things that you will face in Oros and how you can survive there.
Day and Night
Day and Night are two different lands of Oros. In the day time, animals are rarely found. But the main danger is the hunting parties of the two enemy tribes. So be careful always and keep your ears and eyes open to spend your day time well. In the day time, you can travel longer distances because of high visibility. On the other hand, night is dark and very dangerous. Visibility is low and animals come out to hunt. But exploring at night can give you unique animals, plants and collectibles. At night, light your weapons with fire to scare the beasts.
Great White North
The northern of Oros is full of snow. So in order to survive you need to stay warm. A meter on the left side of screen will tell you how close you are to freezing. If the meter drains, you will take damage until you either find warmth or die. In order to stay warm, you need to upgrade your cold gear in crafting menu. Another way to stay warm is to light your weapon with fire and carry it with you in the cold.
Oros Creatures:
There are many different types of animals can be found in Oros.
Day and Night
Many large beasts do not come out during the day time. So Daytime is the best to hunt small animals for food and skins.
At night time, hunting can be very risky as packs of Wolves roam Oros looking for food. Most of the beasts scare of fire, so light your weapon with fire helps a lot. To light a weapon on fire, hold L1/LB to choose the weapon with Left Stick then press Square/X to ignite the weapon. Lightning a weapon costs one animal fat.
Hunting
Use your hunter and owl vision to spot an animal from a distance, then sneak up and use your bow to take him down. Try to take a headshot always. Headshots are very effective to kill animals in the wink of an eye. If you fail to kill the animal in first shot, then use your hunter vision to chase him by watching the blood and scent trail. Spears are very good weapons to take down the animals but they require a large amount of resources. So they are not good choice for hunting large quantity of animals. You can skin the animals for generic and specific animal skins, meat and animal fat. Be careful for about rare animals, they provide a rare type of skin that is need for some kind of upgrades.
Beast Companions
It is good to have a beast with you while travelling for fighting on your side. Not every beast can be tamed but those that can each provide a special benefit to you.
Beasts Menu
Press D-Pad Right to open the Beasts menu and see all tamable animals. Animal which are not tamed yet are greyed out while animals you do not have the skill to tame are grayed out and also have a small lock placed to the top right of their image. From this menu, you can call a selected beast. You can tame more beasts by upgrading your beast master skills.
Tamed beasts obey your command. To command your beast to go to an area or attack a target, aim with L2/LT then use R1/RB to issue the command. To call a beast back to your side, press and hold D-Pad Right. This causes Takkar to whistle and your beast immediately returns to you.
Beast Survival
Elite Chieftains are very hard to kill. Smaller beasts quickly lose a fight against them. Bigger predators such as Mammoths and Cave Bears also pose a great threat to your beast. When your beast is wounded, approach it and hold Square/X to heal it with Meat. If your beast dies, revive it from the Beasts menu or tame another.
Taming Beasts
When you want to tame a wild animal, bait is necessary. In order to craft bait, open your weapon wheel highlight bait on your left menu. It is made from two meats which can be obtained from any animal in Oros. After crafting the bait and selected in your weapon wheel, press R1/RB to throw the bait. If any nearby carnivore is attracted to the bait, a small exclamation point pops up above their head to confirm they are taking the bait. Once the animal is at the bait, approach to him slowly and hold square/X to tame the beast. The tamed beast is then added to your available beasts in the Beast menu.
Snakes
Snakes can be found everywhere is Oros, but you can notice them by hearing their loud hissing sound which they make before attack you. Also you can use your Hunter vision to spot them. Use rock thrown to kill the snakes. It is the best option because it does not take any resources to replace the rock. If a snake bites you, you will start losing health immediately, you can avoid this taking correct food in hand.
The Owl
You will granted by this ability after bringing Tensay to your village. With the help of it you can call any owl to scout the area around you. Press D-Pad Up to call in your Owl, then use your Left Stick to move the Owl through the air and the Right Stick to change where the Owl is looking. Pressing L3 causes the Owl to fly faster through the air, making it easy to avoid any enemies. This owl can be shit by enemies. It can be upgraded to tag enemies, direct your beast and drop weapons like fire and sting bombs. Hunter vision can also be used for owl, just press R3 to activate while flying.
