Spells You Should Have:
Guardian Circle (Restoration)
- Enchantment: Undead up to level 35 entering the circle will flee. Caster heals 20 health per second inside it
- Location: Complete College of Winterhold Quest: Restoration Ritual Spell
A twist on the Bane of the Undead; this doesn’t damage undead, but instead heals you (and your Followers if they’re close by). Choose depending on the situation.
Dead Thrall (Conjuration)
- Enchantment: Permanently reanimate a dead body to fight for you. Only works on people
- Location: Complete College of Winterhold Quest: Conjuration Ritual Spell
This effectively grants you another Follower, with equipment that you can give and upgrade as you please, as long as it’s the same type the enemy used while alive
Mass Paralysis (Alteration)
- Enchantment: All targets in the area that fail to resist are paralyzed for 15 seconds.
- Location: Complete College of Winterhold Quest: Alteration Ritual Spell
For fights with a multitude of foes that are gaining the upper hand, this is excellent as it allows you to flee or quickly dispatch enemies that succumb to this spell
Storm Thrall (Conjuration)
- Enchantment: Summons a Storm Atronach permanently
- Location: Complete College of Winterhold Quest: Conjuration Ritual Spell
Although you won’t be sneaking anywhere with a Storm Atronach by your side, having one to defend you, along with a Follower, grants you excellent protection
Dragonhide (Alteration)
- Enchantment: Caster ignores 80{ad0b53be2d5c5d18a99e20ff09d5b2ab365deb4c843e9bf9a16eb8b27c6b832d} of all physical damage for 30 seconds
- Location: Complete College of Winterhold Quest: Alteration Ritual Spell
Casting dragonhide is a splendid way for a Battlemage to reach the epicenter of a mass battle, or to close in against a singular foe of great strength, before launching a devastating attack
Fire Storm (Destruction)
- Enchantment: A 100-point fiery explosion centered on the caster. Does more damage to closer targets
- Location: Complete College of Winterhold Quest: Destruction Ritual Spell
If the action is getting a little too violent close to your location, fend off multiple foes at once with this, or defeat them after stopping them with Mass Paralysis
Lightning Storm (Destruction)
- Enchantment: Target takes 75 points of shock damage per second to health, and half that to magicka
- Location: Complete College of Winterhold Quest: Destruction Ritual Spell
Vicious pinpoint shocking can set foes on the defensive, and it’s even more problematic for enemy wizards. This isn’t for mass combat, but rather a devastating barrage against a troublesome foe
Bane Of The Undead (Restoration)
- Enchantment: Sets undead up to level 30 on fire and makes them flee for 30 seconds
- Location: Complete College of Winterhold Quest: Restoration Ritual Spell
Exploring a barrow and don’t wish to get bogged down fighting every Skeleton, Draugr, or other undead foe you meet, try this
Call To Arms (Illusion)
- Enchantment: Targets have improved combat skills, health and stamina for 10 minutes
- Location: Complete College of Winterhold Quest: Illusion Ritual Spell
This is the spell to learn if you travel with Followers; the larger your entourage, the more helpful this spell is. Cast it on a Follower, a companion, and any thralls, for example
Mayhem (Illusion)
- Enchantment: Creatures and people up to level 25 will attack anyone nearby for 60 seconds
- Location: Complete College of Winterhold Quest: Illusion Ritual Spell
Creating complete madness around your person can be exceptionally entertaining, although you need to watch out for your own Followers and avoid collateral damage
