New installment in Batman franchise brought back the AR Challenges, and this time they are much more difficult and complex as compared to the previous versions of this popular game series. These challenges are more difficult because they take place in a simulation of the larger city rather than mostly in smaller arenas. These challenges train a gamer in all manners like criminal dispatch, hand to hand combat, stealth assassinations and vehicular mayhem using batmobile.
On Batman Arkham Knight, AR Challenges are divided into six sections. Here they are
- Tutorial Challenges
- Combat Challenges
- Predator Challenges
- Batmobile Race Challenges
- Batmobile Combat Challenges
- Batmobile Hybrid Challenges
#1: Throw Counter
This is the first challenge you can get after acquiring your first Batsuit in the start of the game. To complete this AR Challenge you will just need to perform successful throw counters. When an enemy is about to strike Batman, press toward that enemy plus the counter button at the last moment to perform a throw counter. It will increase the damage done to the target and also knock over the other foes around you. You can complete this challenge by practicing throw counters repeatedly.
#2: Fear Multi Takedown
In this latest installment, Batman can perform many stealth takedowns. In this challenge you can master these techniques. These takedowns can be performed by sneaking up on those enemies who are not aware of the presence of Batman. You just need to go behind them and push strike button and that’s it. And when you need to do it for multiple enemies, you just need to go behind first enemy unaware and then aiming for subsequent enemies and pressing strike button again for each target. At start, you can kill 3 enemies at a time with fear multi takedown, but you can upgrade this ability to kill up to five enemies. In this challenge, four trios must be dispatched with fear multi takedowns.
The first trio is simple, standing in a semi-circle, allows Batman to sneak very easily. The 2nd and 3rd trios must be approached by way of gates and crawl places nearby. In fourth trio you will need to climb up a ladder in order to takedown the foe. Approach to the ladder, than wait for the foe and take him down. After that look right and try to take down the next foe immediately.
#3: Predator Fundamentals
If you have played any Batman game before then this AR Challenge is a routine stuff for you. In order to complete this challenge you just need to hunt three armed enemies whose positions are randomized each time the training program is run.
#4: Grapnel Boost MK II
Okay now it’s time to fly fellas! This AR Challenge will help you to learn to really exploit the aerodynamic batsuit. You will need to Grapnel Boost off a nearby smokestack to spot Bat signals. These Bat signals will give you a glide path and you will need to fly through them. You won’t have to accumulate that much flight time in this challenge, but you need to follow the trail of symbols through the sky and remain airborne for 60 more seconds. You can get more airspeed by Grapnel Boost off rooftops but you can’t touch anything down.
#5: Summon, Eject & Glide
This challenge shows synergy between new Batsuit and the Batmobile. You can head to the area and then call the Batmobile, then dive downwards. If your timing is correct you will land straight on the vehicle. After landing successfully on a vehicle, accelerate and tap run button repeatedly to eject yourself in the air. Press and hold the Run button to control altitude and continue through the bat signs to complete the challenge.
#6: Weapon Energy Diagnostics
This is the easiest challenge you will face while playing this game. The objective in this AR Challenge is to learn how to activate the secondary weapon. You can done it by shooting on enemy drone tanks and avoiding their attacks. Blasting tanks will charge your weapon. Once missile barrage is charged, use Square/X button to lock on and fire a missile at a drone target. You can go one step further by charging the missile barrage up to level 2, which can take out 4 missile targets.
#7: Combo Master
This rooftop AR Challenge against an onslaught thugs gives you a chance to master your combo skills. You need to maintain a constant flow of actions by alternating between attacking at foes when it’s safe to do so. At the beginning of challenge you will face only 4 competitors but they increase when you knock out some of them. Keep knocking out enemies and keep your combo going for long enough and you will good to go. A combo of 10 gives you one star, combo of 25 will grant you 2 star and a combo of 50 is worth 3 stars.
#8: Tower Defense
This combat challenge is all about to maximize your score. You can unlock it after completing chapter 3. In order to complete this challenge you need to use your FreeFlow expertise to takedown a gang of thugs on the roof terrace of Wayne Plaza. After a couple waves of standard enemies, a hulking Brute enemy appears alongside two knife-wielders. You will need to take them out as well in order to complete the challenge. Scoring 4000 points gives one star, 8000 points gives 2 star and 16000 points will grant you 3 stars.
#9: Azrael’s Atonement
In order to unlock this AR Challenge you need to complete the quest “Heir to the Crowl”. While completing this challenge you will play as Azrael and you have same moves and skills as dark knight. Your goal is not to get hit in this AR Challenge. Dodging and countering all attacks is the most important thing in it. The battle starts against ten militia foes, but they are easy to counter. The only attack they have you can’t Counter is their telegraphed tackle, easy to Evade or thwart with a Quickfired Batarang. Scoring 7500 points will give you one star, 15000 points will give 2 star and 30000 points is worth 3 stars.
#10: Gotham Knights
If you want to unlock this AR Challenge then you will need to deploy three different Quickfire Gadgets in one fight after chapter 5 progress. This tag team fight shows the combat skills of Batman and his ally Nightwing. You can tag between them by L1/LB buttons. Both of them need to face many waves of attackers. As you start taking them down, shield users show up and eventually a Brute enters into the frey.
In order to down him you will need to stun him. It would be very difficult when many Brute’s Henchman are still circling, so you may need to deplete their ranks before knocking out the boss. After downing the boss, the challenge will end. Scoring 5000 points grant you one star, 10,000 point awards 2 star and 20,000 points will give you 3 stars.
