Beast-possessed Soul:
- Location: Chalice Dungeon
- Drop: Blood Echoes and ??
The Kirkhammer or Ludwig’s Holy Blade in their one-handed forms will cut this guy down soon enough. I didn’t see him in the deeper dungeons since I think the developers realized how much of a joke this “boss” is.
Keeper of the Old Lords:
- Location: Chalice Dungeon
- Drops: Sharp Blood Gemstone and Blood Echoes
The Keeper of the Old Lords can be beaten easily with Ludwig’s Holy Blade by baiting them into engaging you, and staggering it in the middle of its somewhat slow attacks. This guy is very vulnerable to the gun parry. Watch out for fire attacks since he’ll start making flame waves in front of him from time to time.
Pthumerian Descendant:
- Location: Chalice Dungeon
- Drops: Blood Echoes and ??
It is simple lock onto him and back-peddle away. He is fast and aggressive but parrying is still your best bet. He will quick step towards you to close the distance; blast him with your blunderbuss at this point, this will stagger him and you’ll be able to easily dispatch him with visceral attacks.
Using flame paper also helps whittle his health down. You can also dodge to the right when he telegraphs his scythe swings to get in 1-2 hits before he dashes away. He’s only rough if he catches you in a corner and enters one of his 4-5 hit combos.
Abhorrent Beast:
- Location: Chalice Dungeon – Ailing Loran
- Drops: Blood Echoes and Lower Loran Chalice
You only have to do two things to bring him down: Use poison knives and Cannon. Getting 4 shots out of the cannon is essential here since it will take him down to about 60{ad0b53be2d5c5d18a99e20ff09d5b2ab365deb4c843e9bf9a16eb8b27c6b832d} health, especially if you’re powering up the shots with Bone Marrow Ash. For the rest of the time, simply dodge backwards while throwing the occasional poison knife. Continuously walk back from him and that will trigger a 3 hit combo, as soon as the third hit comes in hit him with a leap attack, then instantly dodge back.
Bloodletting Beast:
- Location: Chalice Dungeon
- Drops: Blood Echoes and Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice
His first phase is simple: dodge backwards and when he does the head bite forward, hit his head. 2h sword L2 attack works great. Also watch out for a quick follow up attack he throws. In his second phase, DO NOT lock on. You need to dodge roll out of the way of his non-stop attacks until he smashes the ground. You need to stay relatively close to him however. Also using Bolt Paper will kill him quickly enough. If you get him near one of the walls, he may glitch into the terrain, allowing you a few free hits before he resumes his attack pattern.
Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen:
- Location: Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice
- Drops: Yharnam Stone and Blood Echoes
In her first phase, attack 2 time and move back, otherwise she will freeze you and do a highly AOE damage. She barely moves until the second phase so it’s easy to conserve blood vials here. When she gets a sword and starts spawning clones, focus on killing the clones first, otherwise they’ll shoot you in the back with their fairly accurate projectiles.
One shot from your gun will kill them. Then start whacking away at Yharnam. The two-handed form of the Kirkhammer will stagger her out of her sword attacks (though keep in mind the “two hit and retreat” rule).
Watch out for her two AOE moves in this phase; one is several torrents of blood from the ground, and the other move involves her forming a blue circle around her and lifting you into the air if you happen to get caught in the circle. Both of these can be easily avoided by dodging backwards. This is nowhere near the toughest boss in the game. Just have patience and she’ll go down in a few minutes.
