Shooting Lanterns
Lanterns are the new items which are placed in levels during Score Attack run. In the main game progression you can’t see them so watch them carefully in Score Attack. They award major points when they’re shot, and a high combo makes the Lanterns incredibly valuable. They are worth more points if you shoot them from farther away.
Nailing A Soft Landing
Soft Landing is a good addition for your combo. When the environment allows it, use the Soft Landing skill to help you quickly move down through the environment, speeding your passage and earning you combo points.
Killing Enemies
Killing Enemies is also another good way to increase your score. The value increases when you play on higher difficulty modes. You get 5 points on lowest difficulty and 3 on Survivor. Stylish kills gives more points than normal ones. Stealth kills, headshots, melee kills, and environmental kills all give bonus points. Stealth kills awards more points than a standup fight.
Bow sniping and Takedowns are ideal because they give you so many points and keep you out of direct combat. And in standup fights you have chance to lose combo because if Lara gets injured she lose combo and points also. Murder the enemy quickly and get out of the fight without a scratch if you want your run to have any value.
Combos
This most important thing in Score Attack is your combo. You can get more points for your actions when you have running a combo. The combos are the best way to achieve high scores in Score Attack otherwise you’ll have to complete entire level without making a single mistake. If you take damage and run out of timer you’ll lose your combo. The timer starts each time you do something that increases your combo score. In linear levels, you just need to move quickly and avoid damage. Some levels require you to backtrack, and that makes the run trickier. You should add these things to your combo.
Collectibles and Crafting Items
Hidden items and crafting material increase your score. All these hidden items and crafting material extends your combo so it’s usually safe to go after them. They grant you at least as much time as it would take to run past them.
Grabbing Wisps
Wisps play important part in increasing your score. The trail of Wisps takes you through every Score Attack. Make sure to take different routes in open spots so that you always have Wisps to grab. A passage without Wisps almost promises that you’re going to lose your combo.
Completing Objectives
Story objectives are important part of these maps. Use your Survival Instincts if you lose the way and go after your objective as fast as you can.
Saving Grab
Add to your combo by quickly managing a saving grab. When Lara is hanging from a ledge, press [X] when she is about to lose her grip to keep from falling.
Expedition Cards
These cards have bonuses and penalties which are added together and then multiplied against your score when determining your final score.
