Fight Against Birdie
Birdie is the biggest opponent in the game with short – travelling jumps and with mediocre jumping attacks. He has very sluggish movement and has no low hit. While playing against Birdie, you need to be careful because he hits really hard. All of his actions have a lot of recovery and he has the highest average damage. You need to avoid being too intimidated by the threat of his damage. Practice yourself to realize when he is using his leaping Bull Revenger throw. If you can judge this throw at right time then you can easily poke him out of any non EX version.
Also be careful about his Hanging Chains because they are long striking moves. You can’t simply dodge them by using projectile invulnerable moves but if you block him by crouching then you can punish birdie. You need to be more careful when his V gauge is filled. He will be faster and stronger and all his bull charging specials gain armor. You can use his size against him. He has short jumps and huge size, he’ll face trouble getting around and zoning.
Fight Against Cammy
Cammy’s throws surrender valuable offensive pressure midscreen, as they reset the neutral game. Her V-Trigger only allows for two V-enhanced special moves, usually ending after a single V-Trigger cancel combo. And she has only 900 stamina. She is weak against defensive opponents since she is the one on offense. Be careful about her Hooligan combination Cannon Strike.
Jumping on her is not a good idea at all because she has anti air for every single angle. Fighting with her on ground is best. She needs to come to you to attack, so be prepared to stand your ground and not get cornered. Her crouching is a good mid – range move but you can counter poke her while crouching. Her cannon spike versions are completely invincible so you can bait her to win the round. Since, she has the lowest stamina, so high damage crush counter combo can easily deal half of her total health bar.
Fight Against Chun-Li
Her V skill is difficult to use properly, so take advantage of it. She is a difficult character to play but if mastered, she will be insane. Her primary weakness is her lack of an invincible reversal (without Ex gauge). If you can bait out EX Spinning Bird Kick, you can heavily punish her with a Crush Counter combo. Be careful about her dominating mid-range attacks like hop kick, you can interrupt them with mid hitting attacks like standing and crouching.
Her normal Hyakuretsukyaku (“Lightning Legs”) versions are punishable on block (always at least -8). EX Hyakuretsukyaku is -2, so you can force her to block a light attack, taking back tempo. If you are playing on offensive character, then don’t miss any chance. Try to score a knockdown, then force her to burn her EX gauge since her only invincible reversal is EX Spinning Bird Kick. If you successfully evaded it, you can crush her stamina bar with a crush counter combo. She is strong against passive characters but she is weak against offense based fighters.
Fight Against Dhalsim
He has low stamina and reliant on his Yoga Teleport and V-Reversal for defense. His low stamina makes movement and poking mistakes costly. It requires a special kind of player to excel at his reactive, space-oriented play. In order to down him, you need to predict his counter pokes as he can do it from large distance. And he has great mobility with his Yoga Teleport and he can use it for offense and for escapes also.
You’ll have to get used to blocking sudden jumping overheads when he teleports directly above your character’s head. When he drops yoga burner on you on your side of the screen, you’ll slowly build up white damage that Dhalsim can make permanent with any single hit. When you are clear from yoga burner area, he will face difficulties to force you back in at mid-screen.
Fight Against F.A.N.G.
He has slow offensive movements and have no true reversal. He is reliant on EX Nikankyaku to escape danger. His output must be supplemented with poison. He has great poke ability but have low damage. He can damage you with poison but it will take a lot of time elapses without F.A.N.G. getting hit. If your character has good offensive abilities than you can easily down him.
F.A.N.G.’s lateral space control against other projectile characters is actually bad. By activating his V trigger, he can poison you merely by approaching. If he is close to you then you will have to accept the damage over time effect.
It’s almost inevitable that he deals at least some damage to you during his V-Trigger. Be secure knowing that at least he cannot K.O. with poison. He will need a clean hit.
