Yo-Kai Watch: Special Event Battles and Traffic Light Events Guide

November 8, 2015 by Ali 1 Comment

Once you complete the game story, face 4 very strong Yo-kai emerge into the world. They are the most difficult bosses in the game. You can challenge them as many times as you want and test your gaming skills.

Also See That:

  • Yo-kai Watch – Duwheel, Hidden Boss Location Guide

After defeating them, you can win their friendship. But you can fight one of them per real day. They have 24 hour cooldown and it resets every morning at 6:00 AM.

Grainpa

  • Location: Hungry Pass
  • HP: 1936
  • Experience: 5490
  • Money: 1069
  • Drop: Candy Apple / Opal

You can reach that area only after reaching the Watch Rank S. this boss is very technical so you’ll face a long fight here. He can inspirit himself and restore HP every turn. So you need to use Greesel in your party to steal that effect from him. Grainpa’s Headsmack attack is quite damaging. It can be rendered useless if you’ve got Baddinyan with a sticker of hate on your side; his Pompadour skill is able to dodge the attack.

Skreek

  • Location: Byrd House – Hidden Room
  • HP: 1914
  • Experience: 8862
  • Money: 1911
  • Drop: Fruit Drops / Soul Secrets

You can fight this boss after completing Request 100, “Bird Collection 2.” He is a tough boss and can fire off Despair, his immobilizing Inspirit, and then follow up with Meet the Reaper, a powerful Soultimate Move that reduces your full party’s stats. In order to defeat him you need skills like Matchless Shell and Miraculous Scales that nullify Inspirit attacks.

Corptain

  • Location: Old Mansion – Side House Attic
  • HP: 2595
  • Experience: 11,742
  • Money: 2348
  • Drop: Getaway Plush / Soul Secrets

Open the gate of Old Mansion’s Side House and then talk to man who is standing on the second floor of Gourd Pond Museum. This boss is very dangerous and his Stab Storm does a lot of damage. In addition to normal attacks hitting five times, the critical hit rate of this Ticket to Hades Soultimate Move is very high. So you need a lot of food in order to win over him.

Awevil

  • Location: Springdale Underground Waterway
  • HP: 2862
  • Experience: 13,008
  • Money: 2805
  • Drop: Nasty Medicine / A Serious Life

In order to fight him you need to open all three floodgates. This is the final and the strongest boss of this special event. He use his Darkness Power to continually steal HP from your team. And his Soultimate Move, called Pitch Black Curse, will immobilize and inflict damage on your entire party. His ultimate ability Dark skill is unavoidable. So Move any Inspirited Yo-kai to your back line and purify him immediately.

 Traffic Light Events

There are Pushbutton traffic signals at crosswalks. You can use them to start special events. You can win a reward if you cross the street when light is green but if you cross the street when light is red then you will be punished. The punishment is a battle with a very powerful Yo-kai.

The “Good Kid Count”

There is a hidden counter in the crosswalk system. Your “good kid count” starts at zero and increases by one every time a crossing is done correctly. The count decreases by one if the “Wait” signal is ignored and you cross the street against the red light. If the count reaches to plus five then a reward event is triggered and if the counter reaches minus 5 then a punishment event is occurred.

Count Reaches Plus Five

When count reaches to plus 5 a sparkle appears at your feet. Pick it up and collect your random reward.

Count Reaches Minus Five

When the counter reaches to minus 5, Snartle appears to punish you for not following the rules. He has A level strength and high attack power so early on you stand a small chance to win…and he gains strength as the story progresses! If you do manage to beat him, there’s a chance that he’ll join you.

I still find the last boss at Infinite Inferno to be the most difficult to beat because of its malicious inspirits. Or maybe my team roster is just poorly made for it.

Luckily, however, using the same team roster, I get to defeat these monsters with little difficulty, thanks in part with the revival items you can buy at the Fortune Hospital.
