Specialist Powers and Offensive Timers
While in combat, you can see your special power in the bottom-right corner of the HUD with a circular meter that automatically fills over time. You can fill this bar rapidly by killing enemy players. Offensive powers take more time to charge as compared to the defensive ones. After activating a special ability, you have timer that automatically drains out. This mechanic is applicable to both offensive and defensive abilities, but offensive weapons are limited by ammo. Firing shots drains both your remaining timer and the ammo of the weapon, so if you activate a weapon too early and only begin firing shots late; it’s possible to run out of time even though you have ammo remaining. So chose a right time and place to activate your offensive abilities.
Here is the list of all the 9 Specialists available to play in COD: Black Ops III.
Battery:
War Machine
War Machine is a powerful ability that allows you to fire bouncing grenades that detonates after a short delay or by hitting enemies directly. It is very powerful when you want to clear crowded interior areas or objective. These grenades are extremely dangerous and they have large radius also. Activate the War Machine just before you engage in an area that has a known enemy presence.
Kinetic Armor
It is a defensive ability that deflects enemy bullets away from the body. After activating Kinetic Armor, you’ll gain double health for few seconds. Explosions and headshots are not absorbed. With this extra health, you can easily win a single fire fight.
Nomad:
H.I.V.E.
It is an indirect offensive weapon that allows you to plant extremely deadly traps that can kill an enemy player that gets too close to them. The H.I.V.E. works best when you use it to mine doorways, ceilings over entrances, ledge approaches, and the space around objectives.
Rejack
If you are died during a combat, then this ability helps you to come back to life with an injection of nanoparticle serum. But it has very big green cloud when activated and an enemy can easily kill you when you stand back up. Make use of Rejack to ambush players around an objective that thought you were gone after they return their focus to your teammates.
Outrider:
Sparrow
This ability allows you to draw a compound bow that allows you to fire explosive arrows at enemies by holding fire button. You can increase the distance of the arrows by fully charging the bow. It is very lethal at close ranges, especially when your enemy is unaware from your position. But at long distances, you should be careful because you need to compensate for the travel time and trajectory of the shot. The explosion from the arrow can kill nearby players, whether it impacts a target or not, and it is affected by the Flak Jacket perk.
Vision Pulse
Activating this ability will reveal all the enemies within the area. It sends a seeking wave in a sphere around you and locates all hostile players and makes them visible through walls and on mini-map. But remember that when you trigger this ability it also shows on enemy mini-map and highlights their screen in red if they actually get tagged by the pulse. Going for kills through walls is effective with the right loadout, if you’re packing FMJ rounds or an LMG, you can drill targets with relative ease without exposing yourself to risk.
Prophet:
Tempest
This offensive ability fires an arc of electricity lethally shocking targets and chaining to nearby enemies. It needs a short time of charge after pulling the trigger, then fires a beam of electricity that’s is extremely deadly and one shot the enemy. Only Battery with her Kinetic Armor up can survive this zap. If you kill the target with Tempest, the target remains electrified and automatically fries any nearby hostile players who are too close! It works best when you keep your distance from enemies.
Glitch
Glitch allows you to rewind time and teleport you back to the location where you were some seconds before. But this ability won’t help you if you are already hit so you need to be very active for using Glitch.
Good situations to trigger Glitch: You’re sprinting and you spot a distant enemy already lined up on you. Your mini-map lights up with an enemy directly behind you. You get hit with a non-lethal grenade explosion.
