Surviving Against Invaders
After getting the invasion notice, back away from the unexplored areas, traps, and monsters. Get the full health and find a location where no one can get above you or behind you. Ready your spells and tools for best offense.
If you gave some PVP gears. Use it. During invasion, it is better to be hide and ambush. Male other players and make them search. Some of them may polite and emote respectfully before engaging in combat. It’s up to you how to respond. Always stay calm and control your emotions. Don’t get scared or you will be messed up. If you have a Seed of a Giant Tree, you can use this item to force monsters to attack your invaders.
Be an Invader
When you are attacking as invader, you need to decide how brutal you want to be. While invading you cannot use flasks but your host can. Remember that and always stay close to your targets. Invasions end up against targets that are within a fairly modest level range, so the fights are going to be somewhat fair.
You can use dried fingers for extra insanity. It will increase the number of Phantoms and invaders that can appear in your world by one each. You can end up with three Phantoms trying to help you, and two invaders trying to destroy you.
Which Covenants You Should Join:
Covenants allow you to pledge your allegiance to a faction within the game. You acquire Covenants simply by finding the “master” of that particular Covenant, located somewhere out in the world. First covenants have defensive PVP but later covenants give you a means of joining a “defensive” PvP group that fights over specific zones in the game. You can join them freely so don’t hesitate pick up each Covenant as you travel through the game.
Every covenant has a separate and different reward item, earned in multiplayer play by performing actions that align with that Covenant’s philosophy. This means defending another player in PvP, hunting another player, or assisting in defeating bosses in co-op. Turning in these reward items to the Covenant master grants actual rewards in the form of equipment for your character.
While playing offline you can get some rewards too. Some enemies occasionally drop Covenant reward items, so it is possible to farm regular foes and obtain at least some early Covenant items.

Destroy the walls to reveal the illusory wall and then climb down to get covenant. By equipping this covenant you are automatically summoned to attack any non-Faithful that trespass on forbidden ground in Irithyll.
