Dishonored 2 – How to Upgrade Weapons, Gear and Equipment Guide

Upgrading your Weapons, Gear and Equipment is very important in Dishonored 2, without it you will be a piece of cake for the enemies. You can buy these improvements at the black market. Some of them have no requirements while some require special Blueprints.

Crossbow Upgrades:

Accuracy

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Improves accuracy

Ancient Howl

• Requirement: Master Ammo Blueprint from The Royal Conservatory
• Effect: Howling Bolts disable magic users

Bolt Capacity +5 (+0)

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Adds +5 to your Bolt capacity, and then +10 when you purchase the second upgrade

Coffin Nails

• Requirement: Master Blueprint Crossbow from the Royal Conservatory
• Effect: Fires Bolts very quickly

Combustion Bolts

• Requirement: Must have unlocked Incendiary Bolts
• Effect: Incendiary Bolts gain a larger area of effect

Deep Howl

• Requirement: Master Ammo Blueprint from the Royal Conservatory
• Effect: Howling Bolts frighten Wolfhounds

Extended Bolt Range

• Requirement: None
• Effect: You can hit targets from much farther away, and the Bolts fly faster

Hardened Bolts

• Requirement: Hardened Bolts Blueprint from Edge of the World
• Effect: Bolts inflict greater damage

Howling Bolts

• Requirement: Howling Bolts Blueprint from Clockwork Mansion Streets
• Effect: You can purchase Howling Bolts

Incendiary Bolts

• Requirement: Incendiary Bolts Blueprint from Edge of the World
• Effect: You can purchase Incendiary Bolts

Instant Sleep

• Requirement: None
• Effect: You can purchase Sleep Darts

Long Distance Lover

• Requirement: Master Crossbow Blueprint from the Royal Conservatory
• Effect: Your Crossbow becomes a very good sniping weapon

Piercing Insult

• Requirement: Master Crossbow Blueprint from the Royal Conservatory
• Effect: Bolts are higher damage and pierce targets

Reload Faster

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Decreases reload time

Stinging Dart

• Requirement: Stinging Dart Blueprint from the Good Doctor
• Effect: You can purchase Stinging Darts

The Dealer

• Requirement: Master Crossbow Blueprint from the Royal Conservatory
• Effect: Aim-lock up to three targets and fire simultaneously

Gun Upgrades:

Accuracy 1 and 2

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Improves Pistol accuracy and reduces dispersion

Armored Bullets

• Requirement: Armored Bullets Blueprint from Clockwork Mansion
• Effect: Bullets ricochet off of unbreakable surfaces

Bullet Storage +5 (+10)

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Adds five Bullets to your storage (+10 for the second upgrade)

Explosive Bullets

• Requirement: Explosive Bullets Blueprint
• Effect: Allows you to purchase Explosive Bullets

Explosive Clusters

• Requirement: Must have already purchased Explosive Bullets
• Effect: Explosive Bullets fragment and explode individually

Magazine 1, 2, and 3

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Adds a Bullet to your magazine for each upgrade

Magnetized Bullets

• Requirement: Magnetized Bullets Blueprint from Clockwork Mansion Streets
• Effect: Stuns Clockwork Soldiers briefly

Reload Speed 1 and 2

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Reduces Pistol reload times

The Determined Traveler

• Requirement: Master Pistol Blueprint from Crack in the Slab
• Effect: Makes the Pistol extremely accurate with the Spyglass

The Crimson Painter

• Requirement: Master Pistol Blueprint from Crack in the Slab
• Effect: Makes the Pistol more like a shotgun

The Insistent Gentleman

• Requirement: Master Pistol Blueprint from Crack in the Slab
• Effect: The Pistol fires at a wonderful rate

The Red Siblings

• Requirement: Master Pistol Blueprint from Crack in the Slab
• Effect: Bullets are fired in bursts of three

Sword Upgrades:

Crossing

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Makes it easier to win when Swords get locked

Monkey Wrench

• Requirement: Master Sword Blueprint in Death to the Empress
• Effect: Deals more damage against Clockwork Soldiers

Occult Kiss

• Requirement: Master Sword Blueprint in Death to the Empress
• Effect: Deals more damage against magic-using enemies

Gear Upgrades:

Bonecharm Slots +2 (+3)

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Adds two more Bonecharm slots (then plus three for the second upgrade)

Collector’s Carapace

• Requirement: Master Armor Blueprint from the Duke’s Palace
• Effect: Reduces damage taken

Moth Dust Wrappings

• Requirement: Master Armor Blueprint from the Duke’s Palace
• Effect: You are less visible in poorly lit areas

Refined Lens Optics

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Adds a second level of zoom to your Spyglass

Silent Running

• Requirement: Silent Running Blueprint
• Effect: Make less noise when running

Silent Sprinting

• Requirement: Must have purchased Silent Running
• Effect: Make almost no noise when sprinting

Grenade Upgrades:

Impact Grenade

• Requirement: Impact Grenade Blueprint from the Royal Conservatory
• Effect: You can purchase Impact Grenades

Discreet Inquiry

• Requirement: Master Grenade Blueprint from Death to the Empress
• Effect: Reduces Grenade noise

Sticky Grenade

• Requirement: Sticky Grenade Blueprint from the Dust District
• Effect: You can purchase Sticky Grenades

Storage

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Increases Grenade storage by two

The Expansive Lady

• Requirement: Master Grenade Blueprint from Death to the Empress
• Effect: Expands Grenade blast radius

Spring Razor Upgrades:

Double Slice

• Requirement: Spring Razor Double Slice Blueprint
• Effect: Each Spring Razor works twice

Max Radius

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Increases the damage radius of Spring Razors

Storage +2

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Improves Spring Razor storage by 2

Stun Mine Upgrades:

Chain Lightning

• Requirement: Chain Lightning Blueprint From Clockwork Mansion
• Effect: Hits enemies near the primary target when the Stun Mine goes off

Charge 1 and 2

• Requirement: None
• Effect: Allows Stun Mines to function twice and then three times if both upgrades are purchased
