Contract #3: The Merry Widow

While in Lindenvale, find the notice board to start this contract. Or chance upon the clues in Mourntart’s Hut first.

• Location: Lindenvale, Lindenvale Cemetery OR Mourntart’s Hut
• Characters: Gravedigger

 

Objectives:

• Talk to the gravedigger

You will read the title of this contract on the notice board “monster in the cemetery” that has taken to digging up graves, preying on those who enter and has even kidnapped the miller’s lad.

Now go to the gravedigger’s house, which is located to the northeast side. After listing to him, agtee to help him and you can put a price if you want to.

Objectives:

• Go to the cemetery
• Defeat all enemies in the cemetery
• Follow the scent of cadaverine

Now you need to go to the cemetery, go to the up north of the town and at junction in the path toward a small chapel overlooking the village.

Here you may face wraith and dogs during the night, these are ghouls rather than dogs. It seems ghouls dug up the graves inside the cemetery threshold, which attracted the dogs. Now use your Witcher senses to locate the following:

• Examine the graves which are dug up without the use of tools.
• A freshly dug grave on the right side of chapel.

Now go near the chapel, across a ruined stone bridge and wind your way along the pathway until you slay a bear and continuing to follow the scent, which leads you to an old cottage.

Now inside it and check the following items.

• The eating pot
• There is a cooking pot on a small fire, containing a child’s femur
• A small circle of human skulls

Objectives:

• Take the skulls
• Put the skulls in the cemetery and wait for the grave hag to come
• Kill the grave hag

Now take the skull and go back to the cemetery and place inside the structure at altar lit by candles.

Mourntart will appear, now slay the monster and take the trophy from the corpse.

Objectives:

• Take a trophy.
• Collect your reward from the gravedigger

Now go back to the gravedigger and collect your reward. You will also get Grave Hag’s Ear, Grave Hag’s Tooth, Grave Hag Trophy and Crowns.

Contract #4: Missing Brother

You need to read this contract at notice board at Inn at the Crossroads to start. Or you can get the clues in the cave and progress to the inn afterwards.

• Locations: Inn at the Crossroads OR Old Mine
• Characters: Bruno, Mikel
• Recommended Item: Axii Delusion Level 3

 

Contract Objectives:

• Talk to Bruno

After reading the contract, go inside the Inn at the Crossroad and locate Bruno in a corner. He jumps at the chance for help finding Mikel. Listen to him, agree to help and you can also put your price if you want to. After that start you work.

Objectives:

• Find the missing brother in the mine near the Inn at the Crossroads
• Explore the mine using your Witcher Senses

Now go to the northwards, head down to the edge of the river and locate an old wagon and small workman’s hut at the mine entrance. Here use Witcher Senses to spot the following:

• An extremely splattered array of human remains requiring great strength to pulverize in such a manner
• Some monster tracks leading into the mine entrance

Now enter the mine and drop down into the waterlogged lower tunnel. Go to the east and you can see the monster tracks again. At the junction chamber with scattered wood and large splatters of blood everywhere. Continue going down, following the tracks until they split into two separate routes.

One continuing left along the tunnel, and one to the right, leading into a small pool of water.

Now dive into water, swimming through an underwater tunnel. Follow the tracks up to the surface, up into a grotto area. With Witcher Senses you can spot a mass of blood. Here you will fight with a venomous Arachas.

Objectives:

• Use Witcher Signs to destroy all the eggs
• Kill the Arachas

Here you need to destroy these large eggs near the near some mushrooms. These eggs are going to hatch soon. Use Igni or Aard to destroy or you can use your blade. Now go to the west, kill the enemies and destroy 2 more eggs, and 2 more apart. Remaining eggs are in a separate cavern, accessed via another underwater tunnel, left of the first chamber.

Not go the northwest and then west along a tunnel to a giant grotto chamber.Use your Witcher Senses to view the calfskin bootall that’s left of Mikel.

Here might Arachas will appear, slay her and collect the trophy.

Objectives:

• Take a trophy from the arachas’ body.
• Collect your reward

Gather some ingredients and a trophy from the corpse, come out of mine and head back to the inn at the Crossroads, where Bruno is saddened by the news of his brother. Here you’re your reward which is half and following items – Arachas Venom, Arachas Eyes and Arachas Trophy
